Itinerary

On arrival at Delhi Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative, followed by a transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Early morning transfer to the domestic terminal for a spectacular flight over the Himalayas to Leh. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free for rest and acclimatization (Leh is at an altitude of 3,500m).
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day tour covering the famous monasteries of Shey and Thiksey in the morning, followed by a visit to Shankar Monastery in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Leh.
Drive to Likir Monastery, a striking structure reminiscent of Lhasa’s Potala Palace. Continue to Yangtang Village, where you have the option of hiking to Ridzong Monastery, renowned for its strict monastic discipline. Visit a nearby nunnery inhabited by young nuns from Nubra Valley. Later, follow the Indus River to Saspol, cross it, and head to the scenic village of Alchi, known for its apricot groves and barley fields. Overnight in a traditional guest house in Alchi.
Visit the renowned Alchi Monastery, a significant cultural site dating back to the 11th century and founded by Rinchen Zangpo. Later, take an excursion to Lamayuru Monastery, passing through dramatic terrain formed by ancient tectonic collisions. Explore the monastery and village before returning to Alchi. Overnight in a traditional guest house.
After breakfast, drive back to Leh, visiting the historic Basgo Fort en route. The afternoon is free to explore Leh’s old town and local bazaars. Overnight stay in Leh.
Spend the day at your leisure. Optional activities include visiting nearby monasteries or taking a jeep excursion to Khardung La Pass (5,602m), the highest motorable road in the world. Arrangements can be made locally. Overnight stay in Leh.
An early departure along the famed Leh-Manali Highway. Drive over the Tanglang La Pass (5,328m), the second-highest motorable pass in the world. After descending, detour to Tsokar Lake, where we set up camp about a mile away (camping by the lakeshore is restricted for ecological reasons). Overnight stay at a fixed campsite near Tsokar.
A long drive through a breathtaking high-altitude desert, passing Nakli La and Lachalung La. Descend the remarkable Gata Loops (22 hairpin bends) and cross Baralacha Pass (4,845m). Continue to Jispa. Overnight stay in a guest house in Jispa.
Cross the final high pass, Rohtang La (3,985m), transitioning from the arid mountains to the lush Kullu Valley as we descend into Manali. Overnight stay in Manali.
Enjoy a full day in Manali, surrounded by pine forests and scenic beauty. Visit the Hadimba Devi Temple, the town’s most revered shrine, and explore the charming local areas. Overnight stay in Manali.
Drive to Mandi, stopping en route at Rewalsar Lake, a sacred site for Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists, each of whom has constructed shrines along its banks. Overnight stay in Mandi.
Travel to Dharamshala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Explore McLeodganj, home to the Dalai Lama and a vibrant Tibetan community. Spend the next full day exploring local temples, markets, and cultural landmarks. Overnight stays in McLeodganj.
