“Ayubowan” – Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Colombo Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our Tangerine Tours representative. After a smooth transfer, begin your journey to Kalpitiya. En route, visit Munishwaram and Manavari Temples, key sites on the Ramayana Trail. These temples are tied to Rama's prayers to Lord Shiva for divine guidance before his battle with Ravana, showcasing Sri Lanka's deep connection to the epic. After breakfast, proceed to Mannar via Anuradhapura, an ancient capital of Sri Lanka with rich Buddhist heritage and Ramayana links. In Mannar, visit Adam's Bridge (Rama Setu), a legendary chain of shoals said to be built by Rama and the Vanaras to rescue Sita. Though now submerged, it remains a significant Ramayana site. Continue to Jaffna. Overnight stay in Jaffna.

Delft Island: A short boat ride from Jaffna, this island is known for its wild horses, coral reefs, and serene beaches. It’s a great spot for a day trip. Keerimalai Springs: Located near the ocean, these natural springs are believed to have healing properties and are a great place for a refreshing dip. According to local legends and some interpretations of the Ramayana, this site is believed to be the place where Sita bathed after being freed from Ravana's captivity. The Jaffna Library: Once one of the largest libraries in Asia, it was famously burned down in 1981. The rebuilt library is a symbol of resilience and cultural pride. After breakfast Explore Trincomalee City tour. Koneswaram Temple: Start your day at this iconic Hindu temple, perched on a cliff with breathtaking views of the ocean. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is an important pilgrimage site, Its is another Ramayana-related site. In the Ramayana, it is mentioned that Rama prayed to Lord Shiva at this temple before the battle with Ravana. Fort Frederick: Explore this historic fort built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and later expanded by the Dutch. It offers a glimpse into the colonial past and great views of Trincomalee Bay. Therefore proceed to Kandy via Sigiriya, En route visit to Sigiriya Rock, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks (Optional). Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient rock fortress dates back to the 5th century and was once a royal citadel. Prepare for a rewarding climb of about 1,200 steps to the summit. The ascent offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including lush forests and water gardens. Along the way, you’ll encounter stunning frescoes of celestial maidens painted on the rock walls. These intricate artworks are a highlight of the site. (We recommend to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the climb can be strenuous). Visit the Sri Bhatha Aman Temple in picturesque Ramboda, dedicated to Goddess Durga. Linked to the Ramayana, it’s believed Ravana, a devotee of Durga, built many shrines to her in Sri Lanka, including this hidden gem.
